A senate RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE Thomas B. Scott, III UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS twenty-nine YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE YEARS AHEAD.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Thomas B. Scott, III upon the occasion of his retirement from the First Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office on June 30, 2024; and
Whereas, Mr. Scott began his career in law as a law clerk for the Fifth Judicial Circuit. He then worked as an Assistant Solicitor for the Thirteenth and Fifth Circuits before serving as the Deputy Solicitor for the First Circuit, where he has worked since 2005; and
Whereas, throughout his career as a prosecutor, Mr. Scott has been driven by his commitment to the pursuit of justice. He exudes the most fundamental qualities of a prosecutor, the pursuit of justice, mercy where applicable, and humility; and
Whereas, a leader in his profession, Mr. Scott has prosecuted over eight thousand warrants and seventy-five murder cases; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the passion and dedication that Mr. Scott has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Thomas B. Scott, III upon the occasion of his retirement, commend him for his twenty-nine years of dedicated service, and wish him much happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Thomas B. Scott, III.
