A house RESOLUTION

 

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR DEBBY STIDHAM FOR HER TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE FAIRFIELD COUNTY VOTER REGISTRATION AND ELECTIONs OFFICE.

 

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives honor Debby Stidham for her twenty-five fruitful years of service at the Fairfield County Voter Registration and Elections Office and wish her a restful retirement, which she began on December 31, 2023; and

 

Whereas, she discovered her passion for ensuring voter integrity when she began her career at Fairfield County working alongside Deane Smith. After her colleague's retirement, Debby Stidham became the Director of Voter Registration and Elections; and

 

Whereas, as Director of Voter Registration, Debby Stidham hired Jackie Beaver to work beside her, and the two became lifelong friends. Together, they have worked tirelessly to uphold their oath of running secure, fair, and just elections in Fairfield County; and

 

Whereas, Debby Stidham has set the bar high for her position by making numerous invaluable contributions to her community. She has eagerly educated voters on the election process and on what happens behind the scenes. Generously, she has also put on student governmental elections for both Fairfield Central High School and Richard Winn Academy and aided in the Winnsboro and Blythewood Cooperative Board elections; and

 

Whereas, always seeking to continue her education, Debby Stidham has attended election security classes every year, joined webinars, and attended the South Carolina Association of Registration and Election Officials conference annually. Her dedication towards maintaining fair elections and voter integrity has extended far beyond the office; and

 

Whereas, throughout her career, Debby Stidham has done her job to her fullest potential and has been a joy to all she meets. She always has found ways to spread kindness to customers, whether it be by listening to their stories, giving sound advice, or just cracking her famous smile; and

 

Whereas, grateful for the legacy of consistent commitment and excellence Debby Stidham has bestowed upon this great State, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in wishing her well in her retirement and trusts she will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Debby Stidham for her twenty-five years of dedicated service to the Fairfield County Voter Registration and Elections Office.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Debby Stidham.
