To whom was referred a Bill (H. 5267) to amend Act 307 of 2012, relating to the election districts from which certain members of the Saluda County School District must be elected, so as to reapportion, etc., respectfully

TO AMEND ACT 307 OF 2012, RELATING TO THE ELECTION DISTRICTS FROM WHICH CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE SALUDA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT MUST BE ELECTED, SO AS TO REAPPORTION THESE DISTRICTS, TO PROVIDE DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION IN REGARD TO THESE DISTRICTS, AND TO UPDATE THE MAP NUMBER ON WHICH THESE DISTRICTS ARE DELINEATED.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Act 307 of 2012 is amended to read:
(1) Notwithstanding another provision of law, beginning with school trustee elections in 20122024, successors to the seven members of the governing body of the Saluda County School District who are elected from defined single member election districts must be elected in the manner provided by law from one of the applicable single member election districts of the seven defined single member election districts as shown on the Saluda County School District Map S-81-00-12S-81-00-24 as maintained in the Division of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control BoardOffice of Revenue and Fiscal Affairs.
(2) The demographic information shown on this map is as follows:

(3) The boundaries of the Saluda County School District are not altered by the provisions of this subsection. These school district lines are as defined by law and any census blocks that may be divided are done so only for statistical purposes and to establish a population base.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
