A house RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE AL MCALLISTER, SR., ON THE OCCASION OF HIS EIGHTIETH BIRTHDAY AND TO WISH HIM A JOYOUS CELEBRATION AND MUCH HAPPINESS IN THE YEARS AHEAD.
Whereas, on May 8, 2024, Al McAllister, Sr., will awaken to the celebration of a milestone event: his eightieth birthday; and
Whereas, Al McAllister, Sr., came into this world on May 8, 1944, in Florence County. One of nine children born to the late Luther and Bessie Pipkins McAllister, the young Al was raised in the Friendfield and Effingham communities of South Carolina. His grandparents were Murdock and Lela Rich Pipkins and Annie McAllister; and
Whereas, Al, who attended grammar school at Mt. Rona Missionary Baptist Church of Effingham and Gibbs School in Pamplico, finds his spiritual home at Mt. Rona Missionary Baptist, where he is a lifetime member; and
Whereas, a committed family man, Al was married to the late Dorothy Hickson McAllister for fifty-one years, the Lord blessing their union with a fine family of eleven children, eighteen delightful grandchildren, and fourteen charming great-grandchildren. He also has one living sister, Jobertha Abraham of Florence; and
Whereas, over the course of his working life, Al McAllister enjoyed multiple professional endeavors. He served at Youngs Farm, Lane Construction, and Price Pools and retired from CSX Transportation after thirty-six years of dedicated service; and
Whereas, "Big Boy," as Al is affectionately called, relishes the hobbies of gardening, canning fruit and vegetables from his crops, installing deep-well water pumps, and homemade winemaking, as well as raising his chickens, ducks, and goats. Al's newest hobby is serving as the neighborhood Uber driver; and
Whereas, Al's immediate and extended family members are thankful to God Almighty for allowing their patriarch eight decades of fruitful living, and they pray God's continued blessings to him in the days to come; and
Whereas, it is a great pleasure to honor this highly valued community member at the celebration of his eightieth birthday, and the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives join with his family in congratulating him on reaching this important milestone. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Al McAllister, Sr., on the occasion of his eightieth birthday and wish him a joyous celebration and much happiness in the years ahead.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Al McAllister, Sr.
