A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE THE dutch fork high school dazzlers dance TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO HONOR THEM FOR winning three State Championship titles at the south carolina state dance team championship, among other accomplishments.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is proud to recognize the Dutch Fork High School dance team for their incredible 2022-2023 season; and

 

Whereas, the Dazzlers finished as State Champions in the Varsity Game Day, Varsity Hip Hop, and Varsity Jazz categories and competed in the Universal Dance Association National Dance Team Championship; and

 

Whereas, in addition to their State titles, the Dazzlers ranked tenth in the nation for Medium Varsity Hip Hop; and

 

Whereas, the Dazzlers won first place in Varsity Hip Hop at the Fort Mill Dance Team Invitational; and

 

Whereas, the Dazzlers also hosted the largest dance team competition in the State, the Capital City Dance Team Championship (CCDTC), at Dutch Fork High School. Twenty-seven teams attended across four divisions and five categories; and

 

Whereas, while hosting the CCDTC, the Dazzlers raised money and collected donated books for Ellie's Library, an organization that purchases new books to be delivered to Lexington Medical Center for premature babies and their families; and

 

Whereas, the Dazzlers team is made up of eighteen dancers, ten of whom are seniors; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that the Dutch Fork High School dance team has brought to its school and community and look forward to a future filled with further accomplishments by the team and its talented athletes. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Dutch Fork High School dance team, coaches, and school officials on an outstanding season and honor them for winning three State Championship titles at the South Carolina State Dance Team championship, among other accomplishments.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Dutch Fork High School dance team, coaches, and principal.
