A Senate RESOLUTION

 

to recognize and honor the brothers of the Sterling Elk Lodge #344 of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World, Inc., in Rock Hill and to congratulate them upon the occasion of their one hundredth anniversary of mutual fellowship and compassion IN the Rock Hill community.

 

Whereas, the brothers of Sterling Elk Lodge #344 of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World, Inc., will celebrate their centennial anniversary on September 16, 2023; and

 

Whereas, on February 1, 1923, Sterling Elks Lodge was established with S. C. Westin as its first Exalted Ruler; and

 

Whereas, the lodge functions on the virtues of charity, justice, fidelity, and brotherly love, following the guidelines of 1 Corinthians Chapter 13, the quintessential description of dynamic love; and

 

Whereas, the members have enjoyed meetings and times of fellowship at their current location on Ogden Road since June of 1994; and 

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate expresses congratulations and appreciation to the members of Sterling Elk Lodge #344 as they celebrate a century in the Rock Hill community.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, the brothers of the Sterling Elk Lodge #344 of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World, Inc., in Rock Hill be recognized, honored, and congratulated upon the occasion of their one hundredth anniversary of mutual fellowship and compassion in the Rock Hill community.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Sterling Elks Lodge.
