A house RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE CLARENDON HALL SOFTBALL TEAM ON THEIR STELLAR SEASON AND TO SALUTE THEM FOR CAPTURING THE 2024 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION CLASS 2A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, out to win, the Clarendon Hall softball team played with great determination and spirit in the 2024 South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) Class 2A State Championship series and captured the title in game two of the best-of-three championship series; and

Whereas, the Lady Saints, having defeated Colleton Prep 3-2, secured their three-peat state title on Wednesday, May 15, 2024; and

Whereas, during the deciding match, Mandy Wells went deep, Calli Yount smacked an RBI double for the game-winner, and Clarendon Hall sent five seniors off in fine style; and

Whereas, throughout the season, Clarendon Head Coach Jeffrey Bays drew on his own considerable talents and skills in molding his team members into champions. He saw the fruit of his labors at the state championship as he proudly watched his players hoist the title trophy high; and

Whereas, the journey to winning the state title required discipline, dedication, and teamwork, qualities that always will serve these young women well, both on and off the field. With admiration, the House recognizes and applauds the outstanding work of the Clarendon Hall softball team and wishes its members much continued success in all their future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Clarendon Hall softball team on their stellar season and salute them for capturing the 2024 South Carolina Independent School Association Class 2A State Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head of School William R. Jordan and Head Coach Jeffrey Bays of Clarendon Hall.
