A house RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR CAPTAIN ALLAN ROGERS, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM A CAREER IN LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina should pause in their deliberations to express their gratitude to Allan Rogers for his significant contributions to South Carolina law enforcement on the occasion of his retirement after thirty-five years of service; and

Whereas, Captain Rogers began his service with the Latta Police Department in Dillon County, becoming a certified officer after graduating within the top five percent of his class out of Columbia; and

Whereas, after serving in Latta, and later in the City of Mullins, Captain Rogers joined the Marion County Sheriff's Office as a deputy.  He worked his way through the ranks, eventually becoming a detective, grant-writer, and a chief deputy, second in command of the entire county's blueline force; and

Whereas, while serving as chief deputy, he was instrumental in facilitating the addition of K-9 units, vehicle computers, a sheriff's motorcycles unit, and a substation for the police force in Marion County; and

Whereas, eventually returning to his hometown of Dillon and joining the family of officers serving and protecting the county seat, he worked under multiple sheriffs with undeterred loyalty, rising through the ranks and earning the title of captain.  He also served with the United States Marshal's Office as a special deputy on the Fugitive Task Force for fifteen years and worked as an investigator with the South Carolina Fourth Judicial Circuit Court; and

Whereas, grateful for his many years of distinguished service to South Carolina law enforcement, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives take great pleasure in extending best wishes to Captain Allan Rogers as he transitions to a richly deserved retirement and the leisurely, unhurried pace of the days ahead.  Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Captain Allan Rogers, upon the occasion of his retirement from a career in law enforcement, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Captain Allan Rogers.
