A house RESOLUTION
TO HONOR THE DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL BOYS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND COACHES ON THEIR IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2024 SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE CLASS AAAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AND TO SALUTE THEM ON A FABULOUS SEASON.
Whereas, the air on your face and the ground under your feet feel different when you reach the top of the mountain. The Dorman High School boys volleyball team found that out on November 9, 2024, when the Cavaliers knocked off rival Wando 3-0 to claim the 2024 South Carolina High School League Class AAAAA State Championship title; and
Whereas, played at A.C. Flora High School in Columbia, the championship game gave elated Dorman fans the chance to see the Cavaliers capturing their third consecutive state title in boys volleyball, a feat that wrapped up an unforgettable season and gave them a perfect record without dropping a single set. Along the way, they added titles at the Foothills Fall Classic Invitational and Volley at the Beach Tournament, further proving their status as the team to beat in South Carolina; and
Whereas, clearly, the Cavaliers, who returned a strong core of experienced players, showcased their dominance throughout the season; and
Whereas, with justifiable pride, Head Coach Drew Copeland, along with Assistant Coaches Madeline Bowers and Caroline Plexico, watched the Cavaliers raise their new title trophy. These gifted coaches were particularly proud of the team's outstanding balance of skill, preparation, and trust in one another, which played such a crucial role in Dorman's undefeated run; and
Whereas, the members of the Dorman High boys volleyball team have given their school and community reason to be proud of their accomplishments, and the House takes great pleasure in adding its collective voice of praise to the encomiums flowing in to this outstanding group of young athletes. Go, Cavaliers! Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor the Dorman High School boys volleyball team and coaches on their impressive win of the 2024 South Carolina High School League Class AAAAA State Championship title and salute them on a fabulous season.
