A house RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE SANDRA ROSE MARTIN BELK UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RECENT RETIREMENT AS TOWN OF PAGELAND DEPUTY CLERK, TO COMMEND HER FOR NEARLY FORTY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH HER MUCH CONTINUED SUCCESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE YEARS TO COME.

Whereas, beginning in 1985, the Town of Pageland enjoyed the benefit of the dedication, experience, and leadership of Sandra Rose Martin Belk, who retired as deputy clerk on March 14, 2025, after almost four decades of distinguished service. To recognize Sandra for her many years of service to the Town of Pageland, her colleagues hosted a celebratory luncheon in her honor on the day of her retirement; and

Whereas, in the course of accomplishing her duties over the years, Sandra Belk handled payments, billing, business licensing, hospitality taxes, parks and recreation registrations, switchboard, payroll, and more for the Town of Pageland. She long served as the repository of a wealth of information that the Town of Pageland will deeply miss; and

Whereas, born on November 22, 1953, this native of Monroe, North Carolina, was raised in the Tar Heel State's Anson County. However, she has resided in Pageland for more than fifty years, so South Carolina is delighted to name her an adopted daughter of the Palmetto State; and

Whereas, Mrs. Belk strongly believes in active community involvement, and she puts her convictions into action by serving her community in various capacities. At her church, she has served as Vacation Bible School coordinator, Acteens leader, and Sunday School teacher. She is also a loyal Central High Band booster and a member of the Chesterfield County School District Advisory Council; and

Whereas, Sandra Belk finds strength for her labors in the strong support of her family: her dear husband of fifty-one years, James "J.B." Carson Belk; their four daughters, Alisha, Sandy, Erica, and Carlee; and their six grandchildren, Trexler, Cohen, Carver, Breaker, Ansley, and Carrington; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House, grateful for the legacy of consistent commitment and excellence Sandra Belk has bestowed on the people of this great State, takes great pleasure in wishing her well as she enters retirement and trusts she will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Sandra Rose Martin Belk upon the occasion of her recent retirement as Town of Pageland deputy clerk, commend her for nearly forty years of dedicated service, and wish her much continued success and fulfillment in the years to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Sandra Rose Martin Belk.
