A house RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR Paul S. Goodwin, A FOURTH-YEAR ELECTRICAL APPRENTICE WITH THE CHARLESTON ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON RECEIVING FIRST PLACE IN THE 2025 ASSOCIATED BUILDERS AND CONTRACTORS (ABC) NATIONAL CRAFT CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Paul Goodwin took top honors at the 2025 ABC National Craft Championships (NCC) in Las Vegas, Nevada; and
Whereas, NCC celebrates and recognizes upskilling in construction, drawing some of the country's most talented craft professionals and highlighting the important role that craft skills training plays in the construction industry. The NCC featured fifteen competitions with skills on display in eleven crafts. The second person from South Carolina to win this prestigious competition, Mr. Goodwin was chosen from among one hundred ninety competitors from throughout the United States; and
Whereas, born in Rifton, New York, he left there when he was six years old and graduated from Keystone High School in Farmington, Pennsylvania, in 2011; and
Whereas, Mr. Goodwin, a resident of Mount Pleasant, is a fourth year apprentice in the Charleston Electrical Contractors Association and has been employed as an electrician with East Bay Electric since 2022; and
Whereas, together with his beloved wife, Christina, he loves to spend time with his family, and he enjoys fishing, kayaking, running, and tennis, and is an avid college football fan; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the standard of excellence that Paul Goodwin has set in his profession, and the members congratulate him on placing first in the 2025 ABC National Craft Championships. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Paul S. Goodwin, a fourth year electrical apprentice with the Charleston Electrical Contractors Association, and congratulate him on receiving first place in the 2025 ABC National Craft Championships.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Paul S. Goodwin.
