A house RESOLUTION

 

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR DR. KEVIN POLLOCK, PRESIDENT OF CENTRAL CAROLINA TECHNICAL COLLEGE, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER PROVIDING OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO THE COLLEGE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

 

Whereas, it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina should pause in their deliberations to express their gratitude to Dr. Kevin Pollock for his significant contributions to Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC) as he begins a well-deserved retirement; and

 

Whereas, Dr. Pollock prepared for a career in education by earning a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, both in education from Central Michigan University. He earned a doctorate in higher, adult, and lifelong education from Michigan State University; and

 

Whereas, before coming to CCTC as its president in 2021, he served as president of Montgomery County Community College in Pennsylvania and president of St. Clair County Community College in Michigan; and

 

Whereas, Dr. Pollock has more than forty-two years of education experience at private, public, community, and technical colleges and universities. His diverse roles and strengths include college administration, strategic planning, leadership, and enrollment management; and

 

Whereas, he is a senior consultant with the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), serving as a national expert on student success models. A renowned national speaker, Dr. Pollock has given captivating speeches at more than one hundred forty-five conferences and colleges; and

 

Whereas, the author of more than twenty-five book chapters and articles, Dr. Pollock recently coauthored and coedited a nationally published book entitled SEM as a Connector; and

 

Whereas, during his tenure as president of CCTC, Dr. Pollock has initiated multiple new programs, including a new strategic enrollment plan and process, and the college has joined a national student success platform called Achieving the Dream (ATD). ATD works with community colleges to provide integrated, tailored support for areas such as leadership, data, and equity that will improve the success for students at CCTC; and

 

Whereas, he is currently in the early stages of leading the college through the decennial reaccreditation process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Dr. Pollock, along with the team at CCTC, turned the declining enrollment trend around in 2022 with a more than a twenty percent increase in enrollment; and

 

Whereas, he plans to spend many happy hours of retirement with his wife, D'Lynn, and his three adult children; and

 

Whereas, grateful for his many years of distinguished service to Central Carolina, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in extending best wishes to Dr. Kevin Pollock as he transitions to a richly deserved retirement and the unhurried pace of the days ahead, and the members wish him many years of enjoyment in his well-earned retirement. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Dr. Kevin Pollock, president of Central Carolina Technical College, upon the occasion of his retirement after providing outstanding service, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Kevin Pollock.
