A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE CHARLESTON NATIVE CANDICE MITCHELL-SMITH ON BEING NAMED A BLACK EXCELLENCE AWARD TRAILBLAZER RECIPIENT FOR 2025 AND TO EXTEND THE BEST WISHES OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE FOR MUCH CONTINUED SUCCESS IN THE YEARS TO COME.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are delighted to learn that Candice Mitchell-Smith has been named a Black Excellence Award Trailblazer for 2025; and

 

Whereas, Candice Mitchell-Smith is not just a business executive; she is also a transformative force of empowerment and change. Born and raised in Charleston, Candice has made an indelible impact from South Carolina to Virginia to Georgia, driving innovation and inspiring countless lives through her dynamic and visionary leadership over the past seventeen-plus years; and

 

Whereas, beyond her professional accomplishments, Candice is a devoted wife and draws her greatest joy from being a proud mother to three incredibly talented children. Her family fuels her passion and commitment to excellence in every facet of her life; and

 

Whereas, as an executive and small business owner, Candice is deeply committed to community outreach, volunteering, and making a difference. Most recently, she led impactful relief efforts during Hurricane Helene, showcasing her ability to mobilize resources and create meaningful change during times of need; and

 

Whereas, Candice has spearheaded transformative initiatives, leading large teams to achieve remarkable personal and professional milestones. Her ability to nurture growth, mentorship, and leadership on a grand scale has earned her widespread recognition. A solutions-driven leader, she thrives on building strategic partnerships and cultivating talent, especially among minority leaders; and

 

Whereas, Candice's academic journey reflects her passion for continuous growth and excellence. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Strayer University and a Master of Science in Management and Leadership from Webster University. Her authenticity; resilience; and commitment to fostering genuine diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives distinguish her as a leader who creates lasting impact; and

 

Whereas, with her unwavering belief in "being the change you want to see" and serving as a living example of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity, Candice continues to push boundaries, challenge superficial DE&I approaches, and inspire transformative leadership across the Southeast. She is passionate about empowering those whom society counts out, turning barriers into opportunities, and inspiring others to rewrite their narratives. Guided by her coined mantra, #statistic2success, Candice views her accomplishments as stepping stones. She remains steadfast in her mission to empower others, proving that Black excellence is not about reaching a destination but about igniting a movement that has lasting and meaningful impact; and

 

Whereas, the Senate is grateful for the consistent commitment and excellence that makes Candice Mitchell-Smith an exemplar in her field, and the members look forward to hearing of her further achievements. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Charleston native Candice Mitchell-Smith on being named a Black Excellence Award Trailblazer recipient for 2025 and extend the best wishes of the South Carolina Senate for much continued success in the years to come.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Candice Mitchell-Smith.
