A concurrent RESOLUTION

to congratulate Dr. Edward Eckert Jr., DDS for his many years of service, hard work, and dedication to horry and georgetown counties.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly wish to honor and recognize Dr. Edward Eckert Jr., DDS for his many years of service to the Horry and Georgetown Counties; and

Whereas, Edward Eckert Jr., originally from Charleston, West Virgina, finished his undergraduate studies at Hampden-Sydney College in 1969. He attended dental school at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry and received his Doctorate in Dental Sciences in 1973. At St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, he completed his internship year in 1974; and

Whereas, in 1978 Edward Eckert moved to Charleston, S.C. and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at MUSC in 1978. Dr. Eckert then moved to the Grand Strand and founded Coastal Carolina Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he became the first oral surgeon to ever serve the Horry and Georgetown Counties and because of his hard work and dedication, the practiced has thrived ever since; and

Whereas, Dr. Edward Eckert is currently on staff at four different local area hospitals and is an instructor at Horry Georgetown Technical College where he teaches Oral Pathology and serves on the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Grand Strand Dental Society, where he is past president; American Dental Association; South Carolina Dental Association; South Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons; American Dental Society of Anesthesiology; and Southern Medical Association; and

Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly takes great pleasure in congratulating Dr. Edward Eckert Jr., DDS for his steadfast commitment to the community. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, congratulate Dr. Edward Eckert Jr., DDS for his many years of service of hard work and dedication to the Horry and Georgetown Counties.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Edward Eckert Jr., DDS.
