A house RESOLUTION

to recognize and honor Marsha Clayman Garrett, founder of the Lowcountry Senior Network, for her exceptional dedication to the senior community.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives take great pleasure in recognizing leaders in the Palmetto State, like Marsha Clayman Garrett, who identify needs in their community and set about to meet those needs in a worthy and remarkable manner; and

Whereas, in 2004, Mrs. Garrett envisioned a unified community of senior-service professionals in the Lowcountry, and she founded an organization called the Lowcountry Senior Network (LSN); and

Whereas, as an advocate for valued seniors for some three decades, she has worked with the elderly and their families in helping them to realize the importance of making the right choices for themselves when deciding whether to move into a retirement community or to continue living at home; and

Whereas, Mrs. Garrett has created alliances across the board to ensure that seniors receive quality care no matter where they choose to call home; and

Whereas, Mrs. Garrett's deep knowledge of available resources and ability to connect individuals with professionals who can assist them have enabled her to fulfill her passion for supporting those diagnosed with memory-care issues and their families; and

Whereas, over the years, LSN has emerged as the premier networking organization for professionals in the Lowcountry, which provides a beacon of support and resources for seniors, their adult children, and their caregivers; and

Whereas, the Lowcountry Senior Network serves as a shining example of what can be achieved through vision, dedication, and collaboration. Through LSN, Marsha Garrett has left an indelible mark on the Lowcountry, by providing a sense of unity and shared purpose among senior-service professionals. She later moved to the Midlands and continued to share her passion for seniors and facilitating networking between senior-service professionals. Now, therefore,
