A house RESOLUTION
to recognize Judy Floyd, Director of Christ Central Aiken-Graniteville, and her husband, Roger Floyd, for their meaningful service to the community through the agency of Christ Central, to congratulate them upon their retirement, and to wish them continued success and happiness in all their future endeavors.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to commend the tireless efforts of Judy and Roger Floyd who have devoted themselves for almost a quarter of a century in helping to meet the needs of those less fortunate in their community and beyond; and
Whereas, for twenty-three years, Christ Central Aiken-Graniteville Director Judy Floyd has advocated on behalf of the residents of Aiken County primarily and throughout South Carolina in general, helping to build an economic safety net of food, clothing, education, and job-skills programs for those in poverty situations; and
Whereas, under Mrs. Floyd's leadership, the Aiken and Graniteville mission stations have provided food and clothing on a weekly basis to local and transient recipients, while serving beyond Aiken County during devastating storms. She has been a staunch advocate for those needing housing and economic program assistance, teaming up with governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations for viable solutions; and
Whereas, partnering with her husband, Roger Floyd, and the education community, Christ Central Aiken-Graniteville has sponsored GED, NJROTC, Jobs for Life, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, math tutoring, and Kids Club. These programs were piloted by teams of volunteers and shared with other mission stations throughout the State; and
Whereas, Mrs. Floyd's leadership has been recognized by community volunteers and leaders, and local elected officials. She most recently received the President's Volunteer Service Award on January 7, 2025. The South Carolina House of Representatives and the State join the well-earned legacy of accolades for community volunteerism and leadership as consistently exhibited by Judy and Roger Floyd. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize Judy Floyd, director of Christ Central Aiken-Graniteville, and her husband, Roger Floyd, for their meaningful service to the community through the agency of Christ Central, congratulate them upon their retirement, and wish them continued success and happiness in all their future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Judy and Roger Floyd.
