A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR molly paige eggleston for her act of courage in saving the life of a fellow south carolinian.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Molly Paige Eggleston for her act of courage on January 14, 2025; and

 

Whereas, a resident of Laurens, Molly was born on March 6, 2008, to parents Karen and Brandon Eggleston. Molly is a student at Laurens District 55 High School; and

 

Whereas, on January 14, 2025, Molly stopped to get gas on her way to school. She came upon Chantry Little, who was experiencing a medical emergency, bleeding profusely due to a life-threatening cut on his arm; and

 

Whereas, showing great presence of mind and bravery, Molly used Chantry's belt as a tourniquet to slow his bleeding. This held danger at bay until emergency medical services were able to arrive, likely saving Chantry's life; and

 

Whereas, Molly's father, Brandon, was killed in action in Afghanistan on April 26, 2012, and has a road named after him in Laurens County. She lives with her mother, Karen, and her sister, Avery; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the bravery and dedication that Molly has shown in serving her fellow South Carolina citizens.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Molly Paige Eggleston.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Molly Paige Eggleston.
