A senate RESOLUTION

 

to recognize and honor the W.J. Keenan Boys Basketball team, coaches, school officials, and their families for a successful season and to congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina High School League Class AAA State Championship title.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is pleased to learn that the members of the Keenan High School basketball team captured the state trophy at the South Carolina High School League Class State AAA Championship; and

 

Whereas, the W. J. Keenan Raiders' basketball team ended the season on a fifteen-game winning streak to capture the title, finishing the season with a 22-8 record; and

 

Whereas, in a sport that demands strategy, skill, and perseverance, Head Coach Zachery Norris and his skilled assistants capitalized on their own athletic ability and training to produce a championship-caliber team and teach these athletes life principles that will endure beyond the gridiron; and

 

Whereas, the W. J. Keenan boys basketball team has demonstrated exceptional skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork throughout the 2024-2025 season, captivating fans and inspiring the community; and

 

Whereas, the Raiders' basketball team has achieved remarkable success, culminating in a victory at the South Carolina High School League Class AAA State Championship, a testament to their dedication and hard work; and

 

Whereas, the team's performance has brought pride and joy to the residents of Richland County, showcasing the positive impact of athletics on community spirit; and

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate recognizes and commends the team's dedication, sportsmanship, and contribution to their community, values the role model that the W.J. Keenan boys basketball team provides for young athletes, and looks forward to hearing of their continued success in all their future endeavors. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor the W. J. Keenan High School boys basketball team, coaches, school officials, and their families for a successful season and congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina High School League Class AAA State Championship title.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Jabar K. Hankins and Coach Zachery Norris.
