VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND LINWOOD GLEN KIRBY OF FLORENCE COUNTY FOR MORE THAN TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF SERVICE IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR BEING NAMED CHIEF DEPUTY OF THE FLORENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Linwood Glen Kirby was appointed chief deputy of the Florence County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) on Friday, January 11, 2013; and
Whereas, a native of Florence, he is the son of Katie Rodgers Kirby and the late Donald Kirby, and he graduated from Lake City High School; and
Whereas, Chief Deputy Kirby studied at Florence-Darlington Technical College and joined the FCSO in 1987; and
Whereas, in 1994, he was named FCSO Deputy of the Year, and he has been named the Optimist Narcotics Investigator of the Year and received the Department of Justice Recognition for FCSO lead investigator in Lake City public corruption prosecutions; and
Whereas, a member of Florence Baptist Temple, Glen Kirby enjoys hunting, fishing, and coaching little-league sports; and
Whereas, together with his beloved wife, Stacie Hendrix Kirby, he has reared two fine children: a daughter, Christian; and a son, Ethan; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciate the sacrifice and service that members of the law enforcement community make in order to protect the precious freedoms that our citizens richly enjoy, and they are grateful for the outstanding accomplishments that Chief Deputy Glen Kirby has achieved in his duties with the Florence County Sheriff's Office. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend Linwood Glen Kirby of Florence County for more than twenty-five years of service in law enforcement and congratulate him for being named chief deputy of the Florence County Sheriff's Office.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Chief Deputy Linwood Glen Kirby.
