A bill

to amend the South Carolina Code of Laws by adding Section 40-47-39, Relating to Physicians and miscellaneous healthcare professionals, so as to PROVIDE THAT A PHYSICIAN MUST BE A MEMBER OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA MEDICAL ASSOCIATION TO PRACTICE MEDICINE IN THIS STATE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1.   Article 1, Chapter 47, Title 40 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:

   Section 40-47-39.   A person may not practice medicine in this State unless he has been authorized to do so pursuant to the provisions of this article and the person is a member in good standing of the South Carolina Medical Association.

SECTION 2.   This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
