A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE FILMMAKER EUGENE PreviousWASHINGTONNext OF COLUMBIA FOR HIS WORK ON THE FILM DOCUMENTARY FREEDOM AIN'T FREE AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM ON THE FILM'S RELEASE, SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 4-5, 2014.

Whereas, the House of Representatives is pleased to learn that filmmaker Eugene PreviousWashingtonNext of Columbia has completed his work on the film documentary Freedom Ain't Free and that he will have the pleasure of presenting it on October 4-5, 2014; and

Whereas, the documentary focuses on individuals who suffered astronomical personal costs in loss of property and life while questing for civil and human rights for all people, especially the disenfranchised. Specifically, the documentary highlights the struggles of notable South Carolinians such as George Elmore, the Reverend J.A. Whereas, these heroes, fueled by a fervent love for their fellow man and a desire for human dignity and justice for all, dedicated themselves to positively transforming the social, political, and educational landscape of South Carolina, the United States of America, and the world. Their work promoted peace, justice, and prosperity for their own generation, generations that followed, and generations yet unborn; and

Whereas, their courage, endurance, and love serve as a model for citizens of today who profess a desire for love, peace, justice, and equality for all, and their tireless and unselfish work, as well as that of others, will inspire today's youth to live as community servants; and
