TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY OF MR. NORMAN L. "CEDERICK" SHULL OF LEXINGTON WHO DIED DURING THE LEGISLATIVE INTERIM.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply saddened to learn that during the legislative interim on August 31, 1991, Lexington and the State of South Carolina lost one of its most respected business and civic leaders with the death of Norman L. "Cederick" Shull; and
Whereas, Cederick Shull was instrumental in the founding of the Lexington State Bank. He was one of the original employees of the bank and was a senior vice president and member of the bank's executive management team when he retired on June 30, 1989. After his retirement, he remained an active member of the board of directors of both the Lexington State Bank and L.S.B. Bancshares, Inc. of South Carolina; and
Whereas, Mr. Shull was also very active in civic and community affairs and was charter member and former president of the Lexington Rotary Club as well as the former treasurer of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he was a dedicated member of St. David's Lutheran Church where he served as a church council member and treasurer; and
Whereas, with the death of this truly fine man, Lexington and South Carolina have lost a distinguished banker, a church and community leader, and a good friend; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to extend their sincere condolences to his family and many friends upon his death. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly hereby express their deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Norman L. "Cederick" Shull of Lexington who died during the legislative interim.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his wife, Mrs. Jewell Shull.
