TO AMEND SECTION 43-5-550, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO A STATEWIDE PLAN ADMINISTERED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES FOR THE DESIGN, IMPLEMENTATION, AND OPERATION OF A WORK SUPPORT SERVICES DELIVERY SYSTEM, SO AS TO FURTHER DEFINE REQUIRED SUPPORT SERVICES WHICH MUST BE PROVIDED WHEN PRESCRIBED IN THE INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYMENT PLAN OF A CLIENT.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 43-5-550(h)(4)(c) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
(c) Supportive counseling and guidance must be provided throughout the Work Support Services process and continue following job placement as determined necessary by the DSS Work Support Services staff and the client. Support services such as substance abuse counseling and treatment, parenting skills for young custodial parents, and living skills are required services for AFDC recipients whose individual employment plans prescribe these activities.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
