AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 60-11-40, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA COMMISSION OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY, SO AS TO AUTHORIZE EACH EX OFFICIO MEMBER TO DESIGNATE A PERSON TO REPRESENT HIM UPON APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE RESPECTIVE INSTITUTION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Ex officio members

SECTION 1. Section 60-11-40(2) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"(2) Ex officio members. The five ex officio members are the heads of the departments of history of the University of South Carolina, The Citadel, Clemson University, Winthrop College, and the head of the Department of Political Science and History of South Carolina State College, and their successors, or, upon approval of the governing board of the respective institution, their designees."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
