AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 6-11-91, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR THE GOVERNING BODY OF A SPECIAL PURPOSE DISTRICT OR PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES ACTUALLY INCURRED, TO DELETE THE RESTRICTIONS ON INSURANCE BENEFITS, AND TO ALLOW THE DISTRICT TO SET THE AMOUNT OF PER DIEM.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Compensation and benefits

SECTION 1. Section 6-11-91 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 6-11-91. The governing body of a public service district or special purpose district by resolution or ordinance may fix or change the compensation or other benefits, including insurance benefits for the members of the district governing body. Reimbursable expenses actually incurred while on official business shall not exceed the amounts authorized for members of state boards, committees, and commissions, and such per diem as may be determined by the governing body of the public service district or special purpose district."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
