TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION, RELATING TO DETECTIVE AND SECURITY AGENCIES, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1445, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the State Law Enforcement Division, relating to detective and security agencies, designated as Regulation Document Number 1445, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
The proposed regulations will effect a change in fee schedules for persons engaging in the business of private security, premise security and private detective work within the State as authorized in Section 40-17-70 (B) and (C) of the S.C. Code of Laws, 1976, as amended in May of 1991, and Proviso 5.19 of the FY 91/92 State General Appropriations Bill. Other proposed new regulations, deletions and amendments are submitted for clarification purposes and to put into law current agency policies with regard to licenses, registrations and regulation of these industries.
