CONGRATULATING BAMBERG-EHRHARDT HIGH SCHOOL ON WINNING THE 1992 CLASS AA BASEBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School defeated Walhalla High School 8-5 to claim the Class AA baseball state crown for 1992; and
Whereas, the Red Raiders of Bamberg-Ehrhardt were coached by David Horton -- one of the state's premier baseball coaches -- and finished the season with an outstanding record of 32-4; and
Whereas, Eddie Folk and Roland Deaton served as the team's assistant coaches, and the 1992 Red Raider players included the following: Todd Brown, Steven Price, Charles Ransom, Romey Smalls, Brian Taylor, Preston Wilson, Gray Yelton, William Raysor, Jamie Layden, Kevin Manigault, Franklin McCormick, Mark Medlin, Richard Wilson, and Rad Deaton; and
Whereas, the Red Raiders' dedication, hard work, unity, and obvious talent all combined to propel them to the 1992 Class AA state title, an accomplishment worthy of recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School on winning the 1992 Class AA baseball state championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Bamberg-Ehrhardt baseball team and coaching staff, in care of Coach David Horton, at Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School.
