AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 50-16-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE PROHIBITION ON IMPORTING CERTAIN LIVE WILDLIFE INTO THIS STATE WITHOUT A PERMIT FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE AND MARINE RESOURCES, SO AS TO INCLUDE A SPECIES OF FRESHWATER FISH, CRUSTACEAN, MOLLUSK, OR OTHER FRESHWATER INVERTEBRATE NOT ALREADY FOUND IN THE WILD OR NOT NATIVE TO THIS STATE IN THE PROHIBITION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Prohibition
SECTION 1. Section 50-16-20(A) of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"(3) a species of freshwater fish, crustacean, mollusk, or other freshwater invertebrate not already found in the wild or not native to this State."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
