TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 7-1-90, SO AS TO REQUIRE ANY PERSON HOLDING PUBLIC ELECTIVE OFFICE TO RESIGN THE OFFICE BEFORE HE MAY BECOME A CANDIDATE FOR ANOTHER PUBLIC ELECTIVE OFFICE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 7-1-90. Any person holding public elective office shall resign the office before he may become a candidate for another public elective office."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
