To whom was referred a Concurrent Resolution (H. 3665), requesting the State Attorney General, in conjunction with the Chief Insurance Commissioner and the State Consumer Advocate, to investigate insurance companies, etc., respectfully
That they have duly and carefully considered the same, and recommend that the same do pass:

REQUESTING THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CHIEF INSURANCE COMMISSIONER AND THE STATE CONSUMER ADVOCATE, TO INVESTIGATE INSURANCE COMPANIES DOING BUSINESS IN THIS STATE IN THEIR THIRD PARTY PRACTICES AND TO TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO BRING THESE PRACTICES TO AN END AND TO RECOVER CERTAIN FUNDS.
Whereas, certain insurance companies doing business in this State, in their third party practices, have restricted trade and freedom of choice and have thereby affected the state's economic interest in a negative manner; and
Whereas, these practices, being so harmful as they are, must by stopped, and the Attorney General, in conjunction with the Chief Insurance Commissioner and the State Consumer Advocate, should act as quickly and as forcefully as possible to investigate and to end these activities and to recover any funds which may have been received out-of-state. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, requests the State Attorney General, in conjunction with the Chief Insurance Commissioner and the State Consumer Advocate, to investigate insurance companies doing business in this State in their third party practices and to bring these practices to an end and recover any funds that were received out-of-state.
Be it further resolved that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Attorney General, the Chief Insurance Commissioner, and the State Consumer Advocate.
