AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF GREENVILLE COUNTY TO RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY SET BY THE BOARD BY RESOLUTION AND TO PROVIDE THAT ANY INCREASE MAY NOT TAKE EFFECT UNTIL AFTER THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED ELECTION FOR TRUSTEES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Salary authorized

SECTION 1. In lieu of the per diem allowed pursuant to Section 59-1-350 of the 1976 Code, the members of the Board of Trustees of the School District of Greenville County may receive as compensation for their service an annual salary set by the board by resolution. Beginning with any salary increase approved after the effective date of this act, any trustee salary increase approved by the board may not take effect until after the next regularly scheduled election for trustees for the School District of Greenville County.

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
