TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION TO MARILYN L. BUNDRICK FOR HER EXEMPLARY SERVICE AS A MEMBER AND CHAIRMAN OF THE LEXINGTON COUNTY COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH CENTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
Whereas, Ms. Marilyn L. Bundrick has served ably on the Lexington County Community Mental Health Board of Directors from March, 1987, through March, 1995; and
Whereas, Ms. Bundrick's exemplary leadership led to her selection as Chairman of the Board of Directors in 1990, and she served in this capacity through December, 1994; and
Whereas, the Center offers twenty-four hour services through cooperative efforts with the Lexington Medical Center emergency room and also provides on-site services to the Lexington County Jail; and
Whereas, in recent years, the staff of the Center staff has doubled in size with new offices being opened in West Columbia and Lexington where two new day treatment programs have been initiated; and
Whereas, the Center provides school-based counselors in twenty Lexington County Schools; and
Whereas, in addition to significant increases in its programs to divert adults and youth from hospital/residential programs to more cost-effective community based alternatives, the Center has expanded its children's services to include on-site services at the Department of Social Services and the Children's Shelter; and
Whereas, throughout these many improvements and increased services, Marilyn L. Bundrick has been a driving force and an apparent leader; and
Whereas, as Ms. Bundrick ends her service as Chairman of the Board of Directors it is fitting that the members of the General Assembly express appreciation for her dedicated and inspirational service. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, express sincere appreciation to Ms. Marilyn L. Bundrick for her exemplary service as a member of the Lexington County Community Mental Health Center and most recently as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Marilyn L. Bundrick.
