TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 20-7-874 SO AS TO REQUIRE A NONCUSTODIAL PARENT WHO IS UNDER THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN AND IS UNABLE TO FIND EMPLOYMENT TO SUPPORT HIS CHILD FINANCIALLY TO COMPLETE TWENTY HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE A WEEK.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Chapter 7 of Title 20 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 20-7-874. A noncustodial parent who is under the age of eighteen and is unable to secure employment to support his child financially shall complete twenty hours of community service as ordered by the family court or tribunal having jurisdiction over the matter."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
