WISHING A VERY HAPPY ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY TO MRS. SALLY GRACE PONDER ALLEN OF CHEROKEE COUNTY.
Whereas, Sally Grace Ponder Allen of Cherokee County will be celebrating her one hundredth birthday on March 15, 1995; and
Whereas, Mrs. Allen is the daughter of the late Ada Y. Ponder and John C. Ponder; and
Whereas, Mrs. Allen attended high school in Boiling Springs, North Carolina and was a teacher for several years; and
Whereas, at age twenty-seven she married Herschel Hall Allen, a minister, and they had three children, two of whom are still living; and
Whereas, Mrs. Allen has seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and
Whereas, before becoming disabled, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, painting, dancing, singing, and working at her church; and
Whereas, Mrs. Allen is a lovely person and a delightful lady and is admired and loved by all who know her; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize and salute her on such a grand and happy occasion. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, wishes a very happy one hundredth birthday to Mrs. Sally Grace Ponder Allen of Cherokee County.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Allen.
