(Statewide Session)

Indicates Matter Stricken
Indicates New Matter

The House assembled at 12:00 Noon.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

Help us, Lord God, to make this new Session a productive and rewarding one.

Not by shielding us from disappointments and discouragements, but by strengthening us when they come.

Not by taking difficult tasks from us, but by removing all cowardice as we meet them.

Not by making our paths always easy, but by making us sturdy enough to tread those paths.

Not by granting us unbroken sunshine, but by keeping our faces bright even in the shadows.

Not by making our duties always pleasant, but by showing us where others and Your plans need us most and by making us zealous to help.

God, use us each one to make this Session a productive and rewarding one. Amen.
