A JOINT RESOLUTION TO REQUIRE THE STATE TO SET ASIDE $1,500,000 ANNUALLY TO PAY FEES AND EXPENSES OF PRIVATE COUNSEL APPOINTED IN NONCAPITAL CASES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Funds to be set aside annually
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph 14.1 E23-Section 14, Part IB, Act 155 of 1997, beginning with fiscal year 1997-1998, the State shall set aside $1,500,000 annually to pay fees and expenses of private counsel appointed in noncapital cases pursuant to Section 17-3-50 of the 1976 Code.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
