AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 727 OF 1990, RELATING TO THE DISTRIBUTION OF ONE MILL OF THE COUNTYWIDE LEVY FOR SCHOOL OPERATING PURPOSES IN GREENWOOD COUNTY TO THE DISTRICT WITH THE LOWEST ASSESSED VALUE, SO AS TO INCREASE THIS DISTRIBUTION TWO MILLS BEGINNING WITH THE 1999-2000 SCHOOL YEAR.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Distribution of levy
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Act 1990 is amended to read:
"Section 1. Of the total countywide ad valorem tax levy for school operating purposes in Greenwood County, the revenue from three mills must be distributed to the school district in Greenwood County with the lowest assessed value."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor and applies beginning with the 1999-2000 school year.
