TO AMEND ACT 856 OF 1964, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE WHITNEY AREA FIRE DISTRICT IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SO AS TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF FUNDS WHICH MAY BE BORROWED BY THE DISTRICT BOARD FROM ONE HUNDRED TO FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Item (h) of Section 5 of Act 856 of 1964, as last amended by Act 1150 of 1974, is further amended to read:
"(h) To borrow not exceeding one five hundred thousand dollars on such terms and for such a period as to the fire control board may seem most beneficial for the fire district in anticipation of taxes. The indebtedness shall must be evidenced by a note issued by the members of the board and the county treasurer. The full faith, credit, and taxing power of the Whitney Area Fire District is hereby irrevocably pledged for the payment of the indebtedness."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
