A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE SOUTH AIKEN HIGH SCHOOL "THOROUGHBREDS" GOLF TEAM AND HEAD COACH, DONNIE HOLLAND, ON CAPTURING THE 2000 CLASS AAAA STATE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the South Aiken High School "Thoroughbreds" Golf Team defeated thirteen Class AAAA high schools at the Class AAAA golf tournament held in Greenville during the week ending May 12 to win the 2000 Class AAAA State Golf Championship; and

Whereas, each member of the team contributed to an excellent team performance which set South Aiken in a good position for the final day's individual competitions; and

Whereas, the team cruised to a twelve stroke victory at the tournament thanks to strong individual performances by Kevin Kisner, Alex Hamilton, and Tommy Faulk; and

Whereas, the South Aiken High School Golf Team for 2000 includes Kevin Kisner, Alex Hamilton, Dane Burkhart, Tommy Faulk, Josh Czarnecki, Justin Hendrix, Jonathan Ferguson, Reid Dearman, Brett Clarke, Brad Page, Tim Christensen, Stephen Clarke, Philip Burke, Kyle Sabbe, and Grant Beebe; and

Whereas, the countless hours of practice, hard work, and sacrifices reflected the "Thoroughbreds" determination to be the best they could be; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly would like to publicly recognize and congratulate each player, coach, and school official upon the conclusion of a truly memorable season. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate the South Aiken High School "Thoroughbreds" Golf Team and Head Coach, Donnie Holland, on capturing the 2000 AAAA State Golf Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Head Coach, Donnie Holland.
