TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION, RELATING TO ACCEPTABLE CREDITS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 2387, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Education, relating to acceptable credits, designated as Regulation Document Number 2387, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The State Board of Education promulgated amendments to sub-regulation 43-51.1, Acceptable Credits. The regulation clarifies:
(1) the type of degrees acceptable from an approved teacher education program. It also specifies the acceptable accreditation for teacher education programs;
(2) the acceptable graduate degrees and the type of acceptable accreditation;
(3) semester hours;
(4) the name of the office.
