TO WELCOME THE SCOTTISH RITE BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION AND BIENNIAL SESSION TO CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA, BEGINNING THE LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2001 AND EXTEND THE BEST WISHES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE SCOTTISH RITE BRETHREN, DELEGATES, AND VISITING DIGNITARIES.
Whereas, the Scottish Rite Bicentennial celebration and biennial session will be held beginning the last week in September 2001 in Charleston; and
Whereas, attending the session and celebration will be delegates from thirty-eight Supreme Councils around the world as well as the heads of many of the appendate bodies of the United States; and
Whereas, the Scottish Rite brethren of Charleston have prepared a wonderful itinerary of functions including a vesper service at the Performing Arts Center at the Convention Center, a formal greeting of dignitaries following the formal opening of the Supreme Council at the Convention Center, and many other outstanding events, tours, and excursions; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to welcome all attending brethren, delegates, and dignitaries to Charleston on the occasion of this wonderful event. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of South Carolina welcomes the Scottish Rite Bicentennial Celebration and Biennial Session to Charleston beginning the last week of September 2001 and extend the best wishes of our State to the Scottish Rite brethren, delegates, and visiting dignitaries.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to William G. Sizemore, Grand Cross, Grand Executive Director of the Supreme Council, 33°, Washington, D. C.
