AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 6-13-240, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE POWERS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PIONEER RURAL WATER DISTRICT OF OCONEE AND ANDERSON COUNTIES, SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE DISTRICT TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE, OR MAINTAIN SEWER LINES, TO AUTHORIZE THE DISTRICT TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH OTHER ENTITIES TO PERFORM THESE POWERS, AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE DISTRICT MAY NOT TREAT OR DISPOSE OF SEWERAGE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Water district may construct, operate, or maintain sewer lines, etc.
SECTION 1. Section 6-13-240 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"(24) To construct, operate, or maintain sewer lines or to contract with other entities to construct, operate, or maintain sewer lines. The authority granted in this item does not give the district the power to construct or operate a sewerage treatment facility."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Ratified the 3rd day of June, 2004.
