AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 189 OF 1957, RELATING TO THE AUTHORITY OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF NEWBERRY COUNTY TO SELL SURPLUS SCHOOL PROPERTY AND RATIFYING EARLIER SALES MADE BY THE BOARD, SO AS TO DELETE THE PROVISION RELATING TO THE DISPOSITION OF PROPERTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Authority deleted

SECTION    1.    Act 189 of 1957 is amended by deleting Section 1 which reads:

"Section    1.    The Board of Education of Newberry County is authorized to sell at public auction such surplus school property, specifically including buildings, under such terms and conditions as the board may determine. Before any sale, the board shall give public notice of the time and place of the sale in a local newspaper circulated in the county."

Time effective

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Ratified the 28th day of May, 2003.

Approved the 2nd day of June, 2003.
