A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE TALMADGE GRAY OF SIMPSONVILLE UPON HIS RETIREMENT AFTER THIRTY-FOUR YEARS IN EDUCATION, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS HARD WORK AND DEDICATION, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, Mr. Talmadge Gray is retiring as the Principal of Hillcrest High School. He came to Hillcrest in 1997 after he served as the Principal of Bryson Middle School for three years; and

Whereas, in addition to Mr. Gray's service as a principal, he has also been a teacher, a basketball and track coach, a bus driver and supervisor, and an assistant principal; and

Whereas, Mr. Gray was named the South Carolina High School Coach of the Year for 1987-1988 in basketball and has received numerous awards in athletics; and

Whereas, Mr. Gray is often requested as a speaker and as a presenter at educational workshops; and

Whereas, Mr. Gray is a very active member of the Reedy River Baptist Church in Mauldin; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are proud to honor Talmadge Gray for his many contributions to education in the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Talmadge Gray of Simpsonville upon his retirement after thirty-four years in education, commend him for his hard work and dedication, and wish him much success and happiness in all of his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Talmadge Gray of Simpsonville.
