VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE THE LAMAR HIGH SCHOOL SILVER FOXES OF DARLINGTON COUNTY ON THEIR 2003 STATE CLASS A TRACK TITLE AND TO HONOR THE PLAYERS AND COACH CHARLIE POOLE ON THEIR EXEMPLARY SEASON.
Whereas, the Lamar High School Silver Foxes of Darlington County capped their stellar 2003 track team season by taking the Class A state title outscoring Hemingway High School 127.5 to 74.5 points in the state track and field meet; and
Whereas, this outstanding victory was a team effort, with Lamar's Terence Williams making it look easy by winning the 400 meter hurdles, long jump, and triple jump; and
Whereas, the Silver Foxes tallied points in 13 of the day's 17 events with Terence Williams scoring 38 points which included a second place finish in the 110 hurdles; and
Whereas, this outstanding finish for the dominating team portends of excitement to come at Lamar High School. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate the Lamar High School Silver Foxes of Darlington County on their 2003 State Class A Track Team Title and honor the players and Coach Charlie Poole on their exemplary season.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Lamar Baseball Coach Charlie Poole on behalf of the championship team.
