VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-1-694 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE STATE AND POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS OF THIS STATE, INCLUDING SCHOOL DISTRICTS, MUST NOT ACCEPT A "MATRICULA CONSULAR" ISSUED BY THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES AS A FORM OF IDENTIFICATION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 9, Chapter 1, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 1-1-694. An entity of state government and a political subdivision of this State, including a school district, must not accept a 'matricula consular' issued by the United Mexican States as a form of identification."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
