A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON FEBRUARY 12, 2004, AND FEBRUARY 26 AND 27, 2004, BY THE STUDENTS OF A SCHOOL IN CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 1 WHEN THE SCHOOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO A WATER MAIN BREAK AND SNOW, ICE, OR INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, RESPECTIVELY, ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES BE MADE UP.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Missed school days forgiven
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-430(B) of the 1976 Code, school days missed on February 12, 2004, and February 26 and 27, 2004, by the students of a school in Cherokee County School District No. 1 when the school was closed due to a water main break and snow, ice, or inclement weather conditions, respectively, are exempted from the make-up requirement that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other circumstances be made up.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Ratified the 20th day of April, 2004.
Approved the 22nd day of April, 2004.
