AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 47-4-60, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO A CERTIFICATE OF VETERINARY INSPECTION FOR OUT-OF-STATE LIVESTOCK OR POULTRY ENTERING THIS STATE, AND THE QUARANTINE OF UNCERTIFIED ANIMALS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DIRECTOR OF THE DIVISION OF LIVESTOCK-POULTRY HEALTH MAY AUTHORIZE EQUINE INTERSTATE EVENT PERMITS THAT MUST INCLUDE A CERTIFICATE OF VETERINARY INSPECTION, ANIMAL IDENTIFICATION, AND A CURRENT NEGATIVE COGGINS TEST.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Equine interstate event permits
SECTION 1. Section 47-4-60 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 22 of 1995, is further amended by adding a new subsection to read:
"( ) The Director of the Division of Livestock-Poultry Health may authorize equine interstate event permits that must include a certificate of veterinary inspection, animal identification, and a current negative Coggins test."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.

Approved the 8th day of September, 2004.
