A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA TO SET A DATE FOR AN ELECTION SO THAT THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY MAY VOTE TO CHANGE THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT FROM THE COUNCIL-MANAGER FORM PRESENTLY USED BY THE CITY OR TO RETAIN THAT FORM OF GOVERNMENT.

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the governing body of the City of Columbia is requested to set a date for holding an election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 5-5-20, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, so that the electors of the city may vote to change the form of government from the council-manager form presently used by the city or to retain that form of government.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Mayor and each member of the governing body of the City of Columbia.
