A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR MR. WILLIAM ALLEN MCLEAN FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AND VOLUNTEER CONTRIBUTIONS TO CITIZENS IN GREENWOOD COUNTY.

Whereas, Mr. William Allen McLean of Greenwood, a graduate of Fayette State, is a retired school teacher from Greenwood School District #50; and

Whereas, he has educated, mentored, and tutored thousands of students in Greenwood County for more than forty years in the public school system, and he still shadows students who need extra guidance and assistance; and

Whereas, Mr. McLean is known for his generosity, caring, and kindness, and he has provided many anonymous scholarships for students for books and special camps and has taken many underprivileged children under his wing; and

Whereas, he is a positive role model and fosters the development of many youth through enrichment activities and summer camps, and he has also served as a volunteer Little League Coach for football at Seaboard Recreation Center; and

Whereas, Mr. McLean has co-hosted community meals during the Spring and Winter that promote community spirit at Magnolia Park, and he also uses his culinary skills and gardening to provide nourishing foods and vegetables and beautiful plants to families throughout the county; and

Whereas, Mr. McLean serves faithfully at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church as a Trustee, Brotherhood Member, Sunday School Member, Senior Citizen Ministry, and Tutorial Program Instructor; and

Whereas, Mr. McLean is the beloved husband of Mary Steward McLean and the adored father of Mary Albertha McLean, who both provide loving support to Mr. McLean in all his giving endeavors; and

Whereas, Mr. McLean gives unselfishly of his time and resources to enrich the lives of others and his community volunteer work and personal contributions have helped to improve the quality of education and life for countless residents of Greenwood County. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Mr. William Allen McLean for his many years of dedicated, caring service and volunteer contributions to the youth and citizens in Greenwood County.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to William Allen McLean.
